The BUZZ around Intermittent Fasting

INTERMITTENT FASTING.

It's a VERY POPULAR topic right now...

. . Since the information about I.F. has surfaced and gained popularity, people are taking this beneficial lifestyle tool the the EXTREMES. . . Some of the benefits of Intermittent Fasting include:

- More energy

- Weight loss

- Less sugar/carb cravings

.

.

The most common fasting windows are 16: 8 and 18:6.

This simply means you fast (consume no food or anything with calories) only consuming water, black coffee, or plain tea for 16 or 18 hours un-interrupted, and you eat your daily calories in 8 or 6 hours, depending on the method you are using.

.

.

Here are a few simple tips to help you incorporate I.F. into your daily routine:

.

.

- Have your last meal at 6pm, and do your fasting while you sleep.

It makes NO SENSE and has NO benefit to deprive your body of nutrients during your high brain-power demand hours like while you're working, especially when you are just beginning to incorporate fasting.

Since you already fast while you sleep for about 6 to 8 hours anyway, doesn't it make better sense to just extend it by a few hours that way?

As you get used to it, you may adjust your time frame to wherever you'd like.

.

- If you start fasting at 6pm, you would break your fast at 10 a.m. if going by the 16 hour principle, or at 12 p.m. if doing the 18.

If you eat a little later, example 8 p.m., then your 16 hour window would put you fasting until 12 p.m.

.

- If you are not used to fasted workouts, then DO NOT attempt to workout while fasted. Simply move the fasting to a different day OR move your exercise to a different time after you've eaten.

.

- If you are finding that the 16 hour fast is too challenging for you, start with a 12 hour fast for 2 weeks, then move to 14 hours, then to 16 hours.

.

.

You DO NOT need to utilize I.F. every day of the week to reap the benefits.

Using I.F. 4 to 5 days per week is plenty beneficial. For a lot of people, it works out best to use I.F. during your work week to avoid all the break room pastries and because you are already busy with work so you're not focused on eating.

.

.

Using I.F. for extended hours (18+) 7 days a week for months or years on end can actually have a NEGATIVE effect on your metabolism by SLOWING IT DOWN, which causes you not to feel hungry, and can suppress certain hormones which can halt your transformation progress. >>> Too much of a good thing, IS a bad thing<<<

.

.

Give I.F. a try!
